ABOUT

Our Organization

I Am Woman Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women and young girls to rediscover their worth, strength, and potential. Since its establishment in 2011, I Am Woman Inc. has been a beacon of hope and inspiration in the community, and I am honored to have been the youngest woman in my town in recorded history; to launch such a transformative initiative.

Our organization offers a variety of impactful programs, including mentorship initiatives introduced to local youth centers and in support with the Huntington youth Bureau. These programs focus on leadership development, body positivity, and self-love, providing young women with the tools to thrive in all areas of their lives.

EMPOWERING CHANGE

Meet Our Founder - Meagan Salfarlie

Meagan Salfarlie, founder and CEO of I Am Woman Inc. since 2011, is a passionate advocate for  women’s empowerment and family well-being. With a B.A. in Criminal Justice, a BSN in Nursing, and certifications in Suicide Alertness, HIV Prevention, and Holistic Wellness Coaching, she brings a wealth of expertise to her work.

Becoming a mother inspired Meagan to expand I Am Woman Inc.’s mission to support the mental health and well-being of mothers, babies, and fathers. As a postpartum doula trained by the Long Island Doula Association, she provides essential support to families during life’s most transformative moments.

Through her leadership, speaking engagements at institutions like Hofstra University, and community programs, Meagan continues to create spaces where women, girls, and families feel empowered and supported to thrive.

TESTIMONIALS

Voices of Change

"The balloon experiment is my favorite topic of the workshop. The reason, is when we popped the balloon it shows that we are not what people think or say about us. What matters most is how I  think and feel about myself. I truly became empowered"

Rachel Caputo

"Meagan is very compassionate, kind and welcoming a my first experience as a Doula."

Lexi Pratt (first time mother)

"Meagan Salfarlie has impacted my life as my mentee. She is not only a mentor but a dynamic role model. She has allowed to see my worth and believe in myself. When I   needed someone the most she is only a phone call away. She is a healer. I   am grateful to know her and call her a friend."
